ABOUT
THE BREED
Breed Characteristics
Trainability
White Swiss Shepherds are highly trainable and respond best to training based heavily on positive reinforcement with corrections used only when truly necessary.
Sociability
White Swiss Shepherds are typically social with people, dogs, and other animals when socialized properly as puppies. However, some individual dogs/lines may be more aloof.
Energy Levels
Most White Swiss Shepherds have a medium energy level--they enjoy activities like fetch, tug, hiking, running, biking, and dog sports, but are also content to hang with their people. However, some dogs may have more or less energy so it's important to communicate honestly what you are looking for.
Coat Maintenance
White Swiss Shepherds have a thick medium or long coat that sheds seasonally. Be prepared for constant sweeping/vacuuming and weekly brushing if you welcome a Swiss into your life. PS, black leggings are a bad idea when you own one of these guys!
Size
Males should be 22.8-26 inches tall and weigh 66-88 pounds, while females should be 20.9-24 inches and weigh 55-77 pounds according to the FCI breed standard. Some dogs may be slightly smaller or slightly larger.
